How do I use a puck screen?
After tamping your coffee, simply place the puck screen directly on top of the coffee bed before locking the portafilter into your espresso machine. Brew as usual.
Is the puck screen reusable?
No, WDT is a complementary step to tamping. It prepares the puck by ensuring an even distribution, but tamping is still required to create uniform resistance. Skipping tamping after WDT would lead to under-extraction due to insufficient puck compaction.
